Our People
Roger Klosterman, CPA, Owner/Partner
Since graduating from Loras College, Roger Klosterman has worked for a Top 10 and a Top 25 firm, been a partner in a Top 50 firm, and has owned another firm. A Certified Public Accountant for over thirty years, he founded Roger Klosterman & Co., L.L.P. in 2003 to perform a variety of services including: individual and corporate taxation, small business consulting, financial statement preparation, personal financial planning, ministry taxation and planning, business valuations, litigations support and estate planning. His is the author and presenter of the seminar "Clergy & the IRS". Roger is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Roger enjoys time with family, spiritual growth, travel, riding bikes, yard work and reading. He is also an outstanding karaoke singer.
Kathleen Klosterman, Firm Administrator/Partner
Kathleen joined Roger Klosterman in 1997 and later became Administrative Partner with Roger Klosterman and Co, LLP in 2003. She handles the administrative responsibilities of the firm. Kathleen has 20 years of experience as a management professional.
Working in the accounting field offers Kathleen a new appreciation for the client relationship and customer service. The client relationship is immeasurable as we bring ideas and solutions to all our clients personal and business needs.
Kathleen is married to Roger and have four adult children and eight grandchildren and two rescued grand-dogs. In her free time Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, traveling, walking, reading, and puttering in the yard.
In January 2011, Kathleen became one of the founding members of the franchise Ducerus-College Solutions. Ducerus help students and their families through the college decision and preparation for the financial process. Ducerus is a service oriented company that helps parents and students walk through the college decision process by completing and creating strategic plans that include: student or career services, cash flow management, and the financial aid process. Janie Berendes, Senior Administrative Assistant & Payroll Specialist
Janie Berendes has been with the firm since December, 2007. She is known as the JOATMON of the office, which stands for "jack of all trades, master of none".
Janie has two amazing daughters, Audrey and Courtney. After her two girls graduated, she said it was time to look at her bucket list. On that list was to get her accounting degree, so she is currently working towards her Accounting Specialist Degree at NICC.
Janie enjoys reading, golfing, quilting, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She resides in Bellevue, IA.
Ryan Brinkman, CPA Senior Accountant
Ryan Brinkman is the senior accountant at Roger Klosterman & Co. LLP and specializes in business and clergy taxation, business consulting and planning, and compilation review work. Ryan is also the 2011-2012 President of the Institute of Management Accountants. He graduated with honors from the University of Dubuque with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with Minors in Flight Management and Business. He has been with the firm for a year and a half.
He is a regular attendee at New Hope Lutheran Church, where he is currently the Treasure and Stewardship Committee Co-Chair. Ryan enjoys flying, farming, boating, and ultimate frisbee. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Ryan resides in Dyersville with his wife, Cindy, and daughter, Adeline.
Nancy Stone-Brant, Tax Specialist
Nancy Stone-Brant is a staff accountant at Roger Klosterman & Co. LLP. She has been with the firm for 4 years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She has 12 years of experience in tax preparation, specializing in personal and clergy tax.
Nancy enjoys camping, boating, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Samantha Brace, Administrative Assistant
Samantha Brace is an administrative assistant at Roger Klosterman & Co. LLP. She graduated from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management in December, 2010. She has been with the firm since January, 2011.
Samantha enjoys going on walks with her husband and spending time with friends and family. She resides in Platteville, WI with her husband, Andrew, as he attends the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for Electrical Engineering.
Ashley Heims, Administrative Assistant
Ashley Heims is an administrative assistant at Roger Klosterman & Co. LLP. She earned an associate’s degree from NICC Peosta and is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from the University of Dubuque. While attending NICC Peosta, Ashley was on the Dean’s List, as well as a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Beta Gamma. She also tutored other students in the accounting field.
Ashley enjoys walking, biking, four wheeling, snowmobiling, canoeing, and volleyball. She resides outside of Worthington, IA.
Natasha Yarolem, Staff Accountant
Natasha Yarolem is a staff accountant at Roger Klosterman & Co. LLP. She completed two tax season internships while pursuing her degree. She graduated from Kaplan University in August, 2011, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Tasha enjoys spending time and camping with her very large family and friends. She also enjoys playing on softball and volleyball leagues in the summertime. Tasha resides outside the small community of rural Lost Nation, IA. She has a beautiful son, Bryson.

Our History
Founded in 1997, Roger Klosterman & Company, LLP, Certified Public Accountants, has evolved from a sole proprietorship into a partnership. Located in Dubuque, Iowa, we proudly serve clients throughout Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and many other surrounding states. As we have grown, so have our clients. By serving a variety of entities, we have experience with issues that both businesses and individuals encounter at different stages of growth. Entities included in our clientele are: retail stores, restaurants, schools, manufacturers, small to mid-size businesses and most importantly, individuals and their families.
